In Summer of 2021, BETC had received COVID funding to help revive the arts sector, and was looking for a way to return to live theatre. They asked us if we would we be interested in building a traveling stage that would bring theatre to people outdoors. With a bunch of masks, and the support of an excellent university testing/health program, we transformed a commercial truck into a rolling stage, with light towers, sound systems and- my biggest challenge- a full battery backup for the truck in remote spaces. We balanced the needs of the show (LED lights, sound systems, and hair dryers!) with the cost and capacity of an independent battery system.

John Quincy Adams was a brilliant but quick-tempered diplomat, one-term President, and Congressman. Award-winning playwright Aaron Posner imagines conversations between Adams and extraordinary Americans like George Washington, Frederick Douglass, and Abigail Adams. Four Colorado actors chart JQA’s 70-year journey from mischievous child to reluctant diplomat to abolition advocate.
